Construction

We purchased a hull, deck and bulkheads for a Spirit 28 that we found on tires in an industrial yard in our home town, Durban South Africa.

• Why this boat? Designer Van De Stadt, proven offshore design

• Acquiring the hull deck and bulkheads, obtained line drawing, determined our layout. Ripped out existing woodwork and hired a finish carpenter.

• Installed engine and fuel tanks, plumbing, head and water tanks

• Planned electrical, lights, batteries, VHF and SSB radios

• Acquired and installed all deck hardware and fittings

• Build rudder, tube, bearings etc and install

• Prepare keel and install

• Design, build mast and rigging.

• Plan sails
